MAE is currently seeking a CEI Senior Inspector to join our Jacksonville, FL team.
Minimum High school Diploma or GED
Minimum of four (4) years of experience two (2) working on roadway, bridge or utility construction or CEI projects (a Civil Engineering degree will substitute for 3 years of experience). Candidates should have experience on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Jacksonville Transportation Authority, JEA, Turnpike Authority or other Federal Highway Administration funded projects. Ideal candidates would have successful experience working with FDOT District 2 or other Districts.
FDOT CTQP Asphalt II, FDOT CTQP Earthwork II, and FDOT CTQP Concrete I, FDOT CTQP Final Estimates I, FDEP Stormwater Inspector and Intermediate MOT required. Experience or other CTQP qualifications in drill shafts, pile driving, QC Manager, IMSA Signalization or experience in a geotechnical lab, and utilities projects are a plus.
Effectively supervise and perform assigned public works construction inspection work including related testing and survey functions; read and interpret construction plans, notes, specifications, legal property description, and testing reports; interpret, apply and explain City County, State and Federal Regulatory policies procedures and codes, and other complex governmental regulations; establish and maintain accurate records, prepare reports and estimates; perform accurate mathematical calculations; operate designated computer equipment and software; use initiative and exercise independent judgement; draw valid conclusions and project consequences of decisions and recommendation; set priorities, meet deadlines and make sound decisions; maintain level of knowledge required for satisfactory job performance; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective good-working relationships with co-workers, contractors, architects, engineers and clients; other duties as assigned.
Must be proficient in all computer programs required to perform the duties of this position. MS Word / Excel software required and include the ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing). Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record and be able to pass a drug test as a condition of initial and continued employment.
