This project includes paving the existing soil surfaced roadway. The new roadway is a two-lane rural section with an asphalt pavement surface and drainage swales on both sides of the alignment. MAE’s field exploration consisted of auger borings within the proposed roadway alignment and Double-Ring Infiltrometer (DRI) tests within the proposed swale areas on both sides of the existing dirt roadway. Five bulk samples of the roadway surface soils were also collected along the existing dirt roadway for Limerock Bearing Ratio (LBR) testing. Pavement considerations and stormwater management recommendations were provided in our report.
