MAE provided geotechnical engineering support services for the replacement of an 8-inch diameter RCP storm drain crossing Atlantic Boulevard just east of SR 9A. In addition, the existing curb inlet at the north terminus of the storm drain was replaced as well as 20 to 30 feet of storm drain pipe running west of the same inlet. The northern most westbound travel lane of Atlantic Boulevard was reconstructed due to excessive settlement in the area of the storm drain inlet. Field exploration consisted of Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings advanced to a depth of 20 feet below the pavement surface.
