Bank of America Building Generator Replacement

At the time of our field exploration, there was a large excavation approximately 8 feet deep located within the site area which was performed due to an environmentally remediated fuel leak from a previous generator located on the site. The project included the replacement of the generator on a concrete slab approximately 53 by 12 feet in “footprint” plan area.  MAE’s work included Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings within the parking area adjacent to the excavation; laboratory classification testing which included percent fines and natural moisture content was performed.  Geotechnical recommendations were prepared for the design and construction of the replacement generator foundation and recommendations for shoring of the existing structure foundation and backfilling of the excavations.
