Jamie Oehmann

Jamie is an experienced HR and Administrative specialist with over 19 years of expertise. Currently a valued member of the MAE team for the past 5 years, Jamie’s strong educational foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Regents College. His knowledge and skills make him an asset in various administrative systems and processes, particularly within the transportation sector.

Jamie is well-versed in the FDOT consultant Invoice Transmittal System, FDOT project Cost Redistribution, and FDOT Economic Opportunity Compliance, ensuring compliance and smooth operations. In addition to his administrative proficiency, Jamie has a proven track record as a QA/QC administrator on projects for COJ, FDOT, and USACE. His extensive experience in quality assurance, quality control, and project management contributes to successful outcomes.

Laboratory Technician – Construction Materials Testing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years Soils/Concrete Laboratory Experience
  • Certifications – CTQP/ACI Concrete Laboratory Technician, Aggregate Base and LBR Technician
  • ACI Level 1 Concrete Field Technician certification a plus

Construction Materials Testing Technician

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years Technician Experience Testing Soils and Concrete
  • Certified in Nuclear Gauge Safety
  • Earthwork Construction Inspection Level 1
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level 1
  • Clean Driving Record

Document Support Specialist

Minimum Qualifications:

Geotechnical Engineer Intern

Position type: Internship

Work-study program: No

We are looking for two interns for this upcoming spring semester 2024. The MAE Internship is organized on a semester basis, with potential extensions upon senior staff approval.

It involves various tasks such as:

  • Soil Classification
  • Lab Data Input and Figure Analysis
  • Assisting in Laboratory Testing
  • Conducting Site Visits
  • Collecting Samples As Needed
  • Providing Support for CADD Figures
  • Contributing to Design Calculations

Interns will be working 20hrs/wk (with a possibility of reaching 30hrs/wk on occasion).

Public Information Specialist

Leading engineering and construction services company is looking for a talented individual to work with our growing team in Jacksonville, Florida, embedded in our client’s workspace.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with public information writing duties including press releases, newsletters, project fact sheets, statistical reports, PowerPoint presentations, public service announcements, and other public information materials.
  • Coordinates logistics for special events including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project tours.
  • Assists public meeting organizers with meeting facilitation.
  • Assists with Web site design, photo gallery maintenance, database administration, statistical analysis and reporting, and monthly maintenance.
  • Assists with the design of project collateral materials including project displays, fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and maps.
  • Takes digital photographs for photo galleries and project records.
  • Monitors daily newspapers and clip stories and advertising related to the firm’s projects.
  • Performs other general administrative and coordination duties as assigned.
  • Performs such other duties determined necessary by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Public Relations, English, Public Administration, or related degree; excellent writing and proofreading skills; and strong verbal communication skills required. Internship in consulting firm preferred.
  • Job requires ability to establish effective working relationships with the media, employees, managers, citizens, appointed and elected officials.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently.
  • Ability to make persuasive public presentations.
  • Ability to listen and respond to citizens and other customers on a variety of issues.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Minimal knowledge of Web design program (e.g., Dreamweaver) and graphic design program (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher) is preferred.
  • English/Spanish bilingual is highly desirable.
  • Must pass and background and drug test.

State of Florida Licensed Building and/or Residential Inspector

Location: Jacksonville Office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Building Inspection duties (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing as licensed). Inspect commercial and residential buildings, which are under construction or being repaired, remodeled, or enlarged and are performed during various stages of completion to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes/ordinances.
  • Performs inspections of construction work as it relates to licensure.
  • Records accurate inspections results daily.
  • Courteous and professional while interacting with clients when performing job duties.
  • Ensure that project requirements are met and compliant with construction plans and inspection specifications.
  • Drive to various job sites at locations both locally and throughout the State of Florida (if applicable)
  • Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans, blueprints and specifications.
  • A State of Florida Standard Building Inspector License
  • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and to prepare reports.
  • Must pass background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • State of Florida Electrical Inspector License
  • State of Florida Mechanical Inspector License
  • State of Florida Plumbing Inspector License
