MAE provided the geotechnical investigation and testing services for the Army Reserve Center. Our work was performed for the design and construction of:
Army Reserve Center and UHS Building – One (1) single-story building with column and wall loadings of approximately 75 kips and 6,000 pounds per lineal foot, respectively
OMS Building – One (1) single-story maintenance building with hoist/column and wall loadings of approximately 100 kips and 7,000 pounds per lineal foot, respectively
Fifteen Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings were performed at the site, drilled to depths of approximately 15 to 30 ft below ground surface (bgs). One boring was advanced to 85 ft bgs to explore the sinkhole potential on the site. Borings were performed in general accordance with ASTM D 1586. The borings were sampled with a split-spoon continuously in the upper 15 feet and then on 5 foot centers.
