Project included the design of a one story, 10,600-square-foot transportation administration and maintenance building refueling/vehicle wash area, parking/driveways and a future senior center in Macclenny . A stormwater management pond was also designed in part to control groundwater levels across the site. MAE’s field exploration consisted of Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings, auger borings and field soil permeability tests. Bulk soil samples were also obtained for soil permeability testing in the laboratory. Our geotechnical report included foundation and pavement design and construction recommendations as well as recommendations for reuse of the soils encountered in the stormwater pond area as site fill. The soil permeability test results were used for a base flow analysis using the PONDS software to predict the groundwater drawdown and background water seepage during pond operation.
